Mind Journeys

Binaural beats · iOS

Design the frequency curve, not just the track.

Every other binaural app hands you a fixed recording. This one lets you chain steps — start in beta, glide to theta over twenty minutes, hold, then fall into delta — and hear the tone move the whole way.

The whole app, three screens

Pick a journey, watch the frequency move, or open the builder and draw your own. There is nothing else to learn.

  • The app's home screen, listing journeys grouped by sleep, meditate and relax, each card showing its frequency curve, length and ambience.

    The library

Fourteen journeys across sleep, meditation, relaxation and focus — each with its curve drawn on the card.

  • The player screen mid-session, showing a countdown ring at 29 minutes, the current frequency of 9.9 hertz in the alpha band, and the full journey curve below.

    In session

The beat frequency and its band, live, with the whole curve underneath. Drag it to skip.

  • The journey builder, showing a starting frequency of 10 hertz in alpha and a first step gliding to 6 hertz in theta over ten minutes, with background scene options.

    The builder

Set where you start, then chain steps. Each one glides to its own frequency over its own length, with its own scene.

Build your own journey

Chain steps into a frequency curve — start in beta, glide to theta over twenty minutes, hold, then drop into delta. Most apps hand you fixed tracks. This one lets you author the whole arc.

Glide through every brainwave state

Delta through gamma, with the tone moving continuously rather than jumping. Scrub the curve mid-session to skip ahead or drop back.

Stay mind awake, body asleep

Journeys can pull gently back toward alpha at intervals, so a long theta sit keeps you present instead of letting you drift off.

Drift into real recorded scenes

Rain, ocean, wind, fire, night, beach and storm — recorded ambiences, not synthesised approximations. Set a different one per step, or none at all.

Recorded, not synthesised

Seven ambiences, each a long seamless loop rather than a short clip on repeat. Assign a different scene to every step of a journey — open over rain, then leave the listener with nothing but the tone.

  • Rain · Steady rainfall on soft ground
  • Ocean · Distant waves on a wide shore
  • Wind · Air moving through open meadow
  • Fire · A campfire burning low
  • Night · Crickets under a summer moon
  • Beach · Gentle waves on sand
  • Storm · Shelter from distant thunder

Or start with one that's built

Fourteen journeys across sleep, meditation, relaxation and focus. Play one as it is, or open it in the builder and make it yours.

What it is, plainly

A tone generator with a good curve editor and a solid ambience library. It plays two slightly different frequencies, one per ear, so you need headphones. People use it for meditation, lucid dreaming practice, focus work and getting to sleep.

It makes no claims about what brainwave entrainment will do for you, and it is not a medical device or a treatment for any condition. If you have epilepsy or a seizure disorder, speak to a doctor before using entrainment audio.
